Groups and keys are used to create the menu layout that will be on the workstations
In this course, you'll learn how-to assign your item screens to your layout. There is many options that can be added on the group and key, but we will stay basic for this course.
Backoffice
Point of sales control
Sales tab
Groups and keys...
Select an available space
Enter the description
Select the number of Columns and Rows that you need (8x8 is always a good way to start)
It looks a little bit empty for now, we will start by assigning our items screens on our layout
Select the button at the top left
Description: It takes the item screen's description automatically. If you want to change it only on the button, check Description and enter your custom name. 2nd name is used if you have a multi-language menu
Text color: Color of the text on the button
Color: Color of the button
Style:
Use an icon: If you want to add an icon to the button
Width extension: The width the button will take (For now select 2)
Height extension: The height the button will take (For now leave it at 1)
Icon position: The position of the icon (If added to the button)
Font size: The size of the font on the button (Between 35 and 50 is a good way to start)
* Take note that you won't see the style, font size and icon of the button on the backoffice, you can only see the result on a workstation*
It should look like this at the end with your custom settings that you applied.
Tip : You can copy/paste a button, so you only have to change the function and the color, all the appearance will be the same
* This function is useful to always have the main layout displaying on the workstation, means that when an item screen is selected, the menu will remain and the items will show up in the appropriate space. You will always have access to switch from an item screen to another without having to press a 'Back' button *
Here is the final result:
Select the button at the right side of Appetizer
Under [Function]
Select the function called 'Show Screen/Remark/Popup'
Go back to [Configuration]
Input the Width and Height (6x7 in our example)
Font size: Between 40-50 is usually correct depending of the button size
Tip : You can display the client's logo in this area. Check 'Use an icon' and input the icon name. (Make sure the image is big enough so it doesn't stretch)
