This version can be installed over a previous MD 7.8 version. If you are installing this version over 7.5, you will be required to order a new license.

Important: All software releases should be validated in a lab environment before installing any release into a live site.  This testing should consider the customer configuration and data to ensure proper operation in any given live environment.

Operation flow on the POS

1. The operator will start a Bar tab on an order
   
1. He will be prompted to provide a credit card to initiate an initial authorization transaction for a predefined amount.
   
2. The operator will ring in the order as usual
1. Once the order reaches over the available authorized amount the system will automatically request an increase of the amount without the need to present again the credit card.
   
3. Once the bar tab is completed the operator will be able to provide the final authorization receipt to the customer to finalize the transaction. 
   

1. The system needs to be installed and configured to use PayFacto EFT (EFT-RTI)
2. The option in the “EMV” and “Use Pre-Authorization” need to be enabled in “Electronic fund transfer \ View \ Options \ Identification” 
   
   
   
3. Activate the option “Bar tab pre-auth” in “Electronic fund transfer \ View \ Options \ Identification”
   
   
   The “Default amount” will be used to create the initial authorization and the subsequent increases.
   The “Single pre-auth” option will allow the system to do only a single pre-authorization
   
   
4. You need to provide access to the employee to use the “Bar tab” function.
   This can be done by selecting the option  “Bar tab pre-auth” located in “Point of Sale Control \ Employees \ Configuration \ Invoice \ Payment” 
   
   
   
5. The employee needs to have the option “Modify check amount”  located in “Point of Sale Control \ Employees \ Employees \ POS Operation \ Option” enabled.
   
   
   
6. To allow the operator to start a bar tab. A bar tab button needs to be added to the screen.
   Select the “Bar tab” command found under “Check commands”
